When Katee Sackhoff was cast as the new, and obviously female, Starbuck on the new "Battlestar Galactica," a lot people freaked out. Fanboys and so-called "purists" sent her hatemail and death threats. Even the old-school Starbuck, Dirk Benedict freaked out in a hate-filled rant of a magazine article. Well, it doesn't matter, Katee has pressed on, and the accolades have drowned out the hatred, as she's helped give us a flawed, but stalwart character that keeps viewers coming back. Before BSG, she got her break on the short-lived "The Education of Max Bickford," and was also in the most recent "Halloween" movie. Now that she's gotten her big break, she's gotten some scripts coming her way, including, rumor has it, the one for a proposed "Bionic Woman" remake. I think beyond "Battlestar," she'll have a pretty solid career. This woman is a big reason I'm G.I.N.O. and proud.
